States Party to the Convention

 

The Eurasian Patent Convention was signed on September 9, 1994 in Moscow by the Heads of the Governments of Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Ukraine and came into force on August 12, 1995 after Turkmenistan, Belarus and Tajikistan deposited their instruments of accession to the Convention to the WIPO Director General, on March 1, 1995, May 8, 1995 and May 12, 1995 respectively.

To date, the Convention is also ratified by Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Moldova and Republic of Armenia.

In pursuance of Articles 2(3) and 3 of the Convention, the EAPO is governed by an Administrative Council. Each Contracting State is represented at the Administrative Council by a plenipotentiary representative and a deputy representative by power of attorney conferred by the Government of the Contracting State.

The Governments of the Contracting States appointed their plenipotentiary representatives to work in the Administrative Council. They are also heads of the national patent offices.
